The Mahmoud Darwish Museum

In a tribute to one of Palestine’s most revered poets, Mahmoud Darwish, the Municipality of Ramallah, in collaboration with the Mahmoud Darwish Foundation, established the Mahmoud Darwish Museum. This cultural landmark honors his legacy, celebrating his immense contribution to Palestinian literature and identity.

The museum, set against the backdrop of Ramallah, includes a public garden perched on a hill overlooking Jerusalem, covering approximately 9,000 square meters. Within the garden, visitors can pay their respects at the poet's final resting place, explore a memorial museum, attend performances in the outdoor theater, or simply enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

The museum itself houses a collection of cherished mementos from Darwish's life, including handwritten manuscripts and personal items. It also features a video exhibition space and a library stocked with his works, poetry collections, and a wide array of literature, offering a space to reflect on his literary genius and enduring legacy.
