Ramallah Municipality proudly inaugurated the Municipal Theater in 2017, located within the Municipality building, marking a cultural milestone for both the city and the Municipality, which takes great pride in its role as a local governing institution contributing to the growth of culture and the development of an open, enlightened, and pluralistic city. Its vision has been shaped through ongoing interactions with cultural actors and by learning from the experiences of surrounding global and Arab cities.
The roots of the Municipal Theater project trace back to the 1960's, when a section of the current Municipality building was designated as the Municipal Theater Hall. However, it was not until later that it was fully equipped and developed into a true theater.
The theater, with a seating capacity of 264, has been outfitted with professional and modern technical specifications in sound, lighting, and cinema. It hosts a variety of cultural, artistic, and community events throughout the year.
