Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center

The Ramallah Municipality launched its Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center in 2023, a facility located on the 9th floor of the Manara Complex. The center caters to support entrepreneurs, small businesses, and startups by offering flexible workspaces, including private offices, meeting rooms, training areas, shared workspaces, and a cafeteria. The center also features high-end amenities and advanced technological solutions, providing a professional environment conducive to innovation and productivity.

The center will contribute to the creation of job opportunities and enhance the local economy. It is also expected to support the municipality's efforts to integrate smart technologies for more efficient public services. By acting as a hub for innovation and providing mentorship and networking opportunities, the center will facilitate collaboration between the municipality, the private sector, universities, international organizations, and the Palestinian diaspora.

Investment Projects in Partnership with the Private Sector

As part of its long-term economic strategy, the Ramallah Municipality has introduced a series of investment opportunities in collaboration with the private sector. The municipality has made available several land plots for development, focusing on projects that contribute to the city’s sustainable growth, create job opportunities, and enhance services for the local community.

The initiative has already generated considerable interest, with several investment proposals entering the feasibility study phase to assess the financial and economic viability of each project and determine the best approach for partnership. The municipality’s approach is aimed at ensuring that each development project aligns with the city’s vision for sustainable growth, balancing community needs and environmental considerations.

Voluntary Local Review Report on Sustainable Development Goals

Ramallah has been selected by UN Habitat as the first city in Palestine—and one of only three Arab cities—to prepare a Voluntary Local Review Report on the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This important initiative reflects the municipality's commitment to contributing to global sustainability efforts while aligning with local needs and priorities.

The work on the report began on October 31, 2023. It documents the municipality’s achievements in advancing the SDGs through strategic projects, partnerships with different stakeholders, and community initiatives. The first phase of the report has been completed, including the identification of key SDGs to focus on. The next steps involve gathering data and insights from key stakeholders to ensure the report is comprehensive and accurately reflects the city’s ongoing commitment to sustainable development.

Monitoring and Evaluation Guide

To ensure the effective implementation of its strategic plans, specifically the 2050 Strategy , the Ramallah Municipality is developing a comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation Guide. This guide will serve as the primary tool for assessing progress, measuring impact, and ensuring that municipal services align with the evolving needs of the city’s residents. It will also include key performance indicators that are in line with the SDGs, and the entire evaluation process will be automated to streamline decision-making and improve efficiency.
