The Ramallah Poetry Festival, launched in 2017 in partnership with the Mahmoud Darwish Foundation and France’s Free Culture Foundation, is a literary celebration dedicated to the art of poetry. The festival highlights poets from Mediterranean regions, serving as an extension of the global French poetry festival, Voices of the Mediterranean.
Taking poetry out of traditional venues, the festival embraces public and unconventional spaces, holding recitals and activities across the city’s squares, streets, and various locales, underscoring the belief that poetry belongs to everyone, and reinvigorating interest in an overlooked art form.
